Height adjustable desk, Linak/Poli.design competition
SIR is a height adjustable desk for offices and studios, also designed as a study/work table for residential spaces.
Table pop is a large, thin, light ceramic tray. The table top is fixed to the wooden legs with four steel hinges that connect the structure to the electric motor, a Linak linear actuator placed horizontally under the top, unlike normal office desks where the motors are placed in clumsy and massive legs. The linear motor stretches and pushes the legs outwards so to lift the top. The pantograph geometry distributes the engine thrust evenly over the entire solid wood structure.
