    MS Apartment

    Renewal and custom-made furniture, Monza

The redesign of an elegant apartment pays attention to the particular characteristics of the architectural shell, a tower block of the 70s. The new layout improves the quality of the space by making the most of the considerable floor depth of the building.
The main rooms were arranged around an "office", a central place that filters and connects the different functions of the home. The office is both a living space and passage that does not define a predefined functional type. It is the visual and functional extension of the living room and kitchen. The surface of the office is not limited by walls but by the furnishings and the glass wall, to allow natural light to enter and visually connect the opposite sides of the home.
Many functions have been simply placed side by side and superimposed, not only for a more intense use of the surface, but above all to favor the global perception of space extension, ideally even beyond the limits of the building envelope, towards the external landscape. Nevertheless, the idea of erasing the limits of different rooms, as commonly happens in lofts, has been discarded to obtain more comfortable areasas wella s a fluid space. The geometry of the plan suggests connections without building wall partitions.
The linear design of the furnishings underlies a sense of equilibrium and relax; simplicity is the tool, not the end.
